This policy describes how Examvio (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile app (Android package io.examora.app) and related services.

Information we collect

• Account: Email address, display name, and authentication data when you create an account (via Google Firebase Authentication).
• Study data you create: Quiz results, topics, flashcards, spaced-repetition progress, notebook summaries, study plans, daily challenge state, and AI tutor messages stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your user ID.
• Content you send to AI: Text you enter, PDFs or images you upload for study features, and chat messages sent to our AI features. This content is transmitted to Anthropic (Claude API) to generate responses and is processed according to their policies.
• Device & app settings: Preferences and similar data stored locally on your device (for example via shared preferences), such as notification or UI-related settings.
• Advertising: If ads are enabled, Google Mobile Ads may collect or use device/advertising-related data as described in Google’s policies.

How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve Examvio (quizzes, flashcards, tutoring, progress, account management).
• Communicate with you about support or important service changes.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

Third-party services

We rely on service providers that may process data on our behalf, including:

• Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database)
• Anthropic (AI / Claude API)
• Google Mobile Ads (if ads are shown in your build)

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their processing.

Retention & deletion

You can delete many items inside the app (for example quiz history, notebook entries, flashcard decks, or tutor messages). You can delete your entire account from Profile → Delete Account.

When you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated user data from our primary databases. A minimal audit record related to the deletion may be retained for a limited period for security and legal compliance; backups may retain data until they expire in the ordinary course.

Security

We use industry-standard protections for data in transit (such as HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Children

Examvio is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the service if you are under that age.

International users

Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, which may differ from your country’s laws.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
